Despite being of royalty, Prince Eric is an accomplished seaman who often partakes in various duties aboard ships in his own fleet. He is going on sea voyages ranging from fishing expeditions to battles and conquest. He laments that soon he must take a wife, though he hasn’t found the right girl, to Grimsby, his servant and confidant. During a storm, Eric is saved by Ariel. Later on, Eric displays skill as a helmsman. In a split second hard turn, he manages to skewer Ursula, winning the day.
